Gemo is a dual-rated U.S. Air Force pilot and a former engineering project manager at a Fortune 500 aerospace company. He holds an aerospace engineering degree from MIT and served as the technical lead of multiple U.S. Government acquisition programs in the corporate world. As a U.S. Air Force officer, Gemo has flown both combat rescue helicopters (HH-60G) and tactical airlift aircraft (C-130J-30) in Iraq and Afghanistan, logging 119 hours of combat flight time. Leveraging experience as a seasoned corporate leader, aviator, and public speaker, Gemo now follows his true passion in education with Milestone C – shaping future STEM leaders and defining the cutting edge of project-based, experiential learning since 2017. He lives in Connecticut with his wife Jen and their two furry children, Tippy and Fergus.

Josh has over 15 years of experience as an avionics systems engineer at a Fortune 500 company. During his tenure, he has led product development as a subject matter expert for various aircraft systems, employing the engineering process life cycle from the proposal phase to customer flight test acceptance. He recently joined the team in 2018 upon returning from a three-year assignment as a program technical lead and liaison in Ottawa, CA. Leveraging his diverse skill sets and experience, Josh employs real-world industry-based approaches to teaching and curriculum development. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst with a BSE in Computer Engineering, and holds an MSE in Electrical Engineering and MBA from the University of New Haven. He lives in Wallingford, Connecticut where he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children.
Dom is a Project Manager at a Fortune 500 company with 10+ years of professional experience and currently lives in Connecticut with his wife. He has held roles in quality engineering, supply chain management, business operations planning, and program management. His day-to-day work involves leading cross-functional teams in the execution of multi-million dollar projects. Dom holds an aerospace engineering degree from Penn State University and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University. He also serves as a maintenance officer in the New York Air National Guard, and has had the privilege of leading 200+ airmen to provide aircraft generation support for personnel recovery missions on three continents.

Liz is a science teacher and robotics coach at Notre Dame High School in West Haven. She has a bachelor's degree in astronomy/astrophysics and a master's degree in space science from Florida Institute of Technology. Liz has been teaching high school physics for six years, including two years at Notre Dame High School and four years at Marianapolis Preparatory School. She has been in science education since 2009, holding the positions of Astrocamp instructor and Florida Tech lab instructor. Liz has extensive training in using the Next Generation Science Standards in the classroom.
Since graduating Hamden High School and Milestone C’s Introduction to Engineering & Aviation program, Colin has been attending Western New England University where he is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Dave lives in Woodbridge, Connecticut with his wife Jen and daughters Ava and Julia. Dave completed his undergraduate degree at Union College and master’s at Fairfield University. He has had an exciting engineering career in both large and small corporations with leadership experience in commercial and military development programs. Dave's engineering career evolved in a unique fashion, crossing disciplinary boundaries between electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, hydraulics engineering, and pneumatic engineering. Over the years, Dave has held positions of rapidly increasing responsibility as a design engineer, process engineer, systems engineer, project lead, and lead systems engineer. His background exemplifies Milestone C’s “direct from industry” approach to curriculum development.
STEM Educator & Curriculum Lead
Kelsey joins Milestone C with a wealth of professional experience in education management and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Expertise in curriculum development, standards mapping, differentiated instruction, and 8 years of hands-on classroom management as an educator uniquely position her to transform complex STEM topics into grade-appropriate internship experiences for Milestone C students. Kelsey obtained her graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education, where she also earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. Prior to Milestone C, she worked in several public school districts driven by her passion for teaching science and exploring innovative education technologies. Kelsey currently lives in Shelton, Connecticut with her husband and son, along with their two dogs and cats.

After graduating from the University of Iowa, Kristi Fleischmann began her aviation career as a United States Air Force officer, flying worldwide missions in the C-141 as an aircraft commander and instructing USAF and NATO pilots in the supersonic T-38 Talon. After the Air Force, Kristi expanded her aerospace career to include global strategic marketing for a Fortune 500 company. She is currently focused on solving problems for aviation companies and is involved in flight training, marketing, and future flight solutions. Kristi holds an ATP, CFI, and CL-65 type rating, and has degrees in Communications, Operations Management, and Strategic Marketing. She lives in Cheshire, Connecticut with her husband Pete, and sons Max, Rudy, and Otto. They have two dogs, a cat, a frog, and a turtle.
Scientific Programs Director
Jennifer obtained her graduate degree in Cellular Biology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Since that time, she has worked in several fields and aspects of clinical research. After her father was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2009, Jennifer went to work at a leading myeloma treatment center in the South. She moved to Connecticut in 2014 and continued her work in Multiple Myeloma research by joining the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in Norwalk, Connecticut. Jennifer now works on several projects that focus on genetic sequencing, as well as other trials that facilitate the development of new therapies for patients diagnosed with myeloma. Through her work at the MMRF, Jennifer is continually engaged with the top medical centers throughout the United States and Canada.
Eric is a Senior Conservation Assistant at Yale University, where he performs x-ray analysis on paintings and objects in the collections of both the Yale Center for British Art and Yale University Art Gallery. Since graduating with a BFA in illustration from the Hartford Art School in 2002, Eric has worked as a freelance archaeological illustrator for several excavations in the Middle East, including Qumran, Bethsaida, and the Roman Fort at Yotvata. His academic interest in religion led him to pursue a Master's degree in Religious Studies with a focus on ancient death and burial practices from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT in 2007. His archaeological work has been published in many books and articles, and his working relationships include the Yale University Art Gallery, Yale’s Department of Egyptology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Tennessee, and University of Hartford.
